Ik ken weinig van dit orkest, Ik weet dat ze uit Ventura komen, vol zitten met baardhaar en ze zoveel mogelijk op Fleet Foxes willen lijken! Wat ik ook weet is dat ik hun liedje Winged Spirit erg goed vind en het wil delen.

Tall Tales and the Silver Lining is the reified vision of singer/songwriter Trevor Beld-Jimenez. While the band consists of a core group of friends from Ventura, CA, Nels Rosengren, Jason Bays, Brook Dalton, Seth Pettersen, Brian Granillo and Tania Beld Jimenez the songs are versatile enough to be played as solo pieces. Beld-Jimenez has even embarked on several solo tours under the name Tall Tales. The Understanding marks the band’s third release on Beehouse Records and is the result of months of writing and recording. The group has been consistently performing for more than two years and has played shows with many notable acts such as Kimya Dawson, Langhorne Slim, The Entrance Band, Tom Brosseau, Richard Buckner, Little Wings, Whispertown 2000, Akron Family, and Ferraby Lionheart among others. Tall Tales’ sound can be described as an amalgam of Americana Revivalist, and sun-soaked, multi-instrumental experimentation with a focus on ethereal yet rationalized lyrics surrounding the themes of love, nature, and friendship. According to Robin Hilton of NPR, the music embodies “a carefree mix of country folk, with simple guitar strums that mingle playfully with spare rhythms and sweet harmonies.”
